Looks like "we, the people" maybe getting fed up with some of the "old ways"...like government bail-outs, banking crises, inflation as regulated by the Federal Reserve, costs and restrictions on healthcare, unemployment....shall I go on? You get the idea. We have unlimited strength if we are willing to claim it...strength to stand up and speak out, to roar so our voices are heard, to say no to injustice and poverty and abuses in any form...and yes to love and equality and peace for all! Let's make our voices heard!

Power to Speak Up and Be Heard...

Yay.. We people have the power to make ourselves heard! I recall having heard my son, a computer scientist, saying many years ago that the internet is the most democratic institution we have ever seen on this planet, because anyone who has access to a computer can have an equal voice in the "community"...and will be unless or until there are regulations on the internet. At the time, I was just learning about the internet, but also had been diagnosed with an early stage of cancer. I fortunately had access through the internet to some of the best information on the planet, but also knew better than to pay attention to the scare stories that were also online. My complete recovery over 12 years ago with no further concern, was due in part to the vast wealth of information available to me. In fact, when I saw the oncologist, she said "We wish that our patients were all as well-informed as you are." So my belief is that having all information that is available on the web being freely available to all is imperative, and, at times, can be life-saving. Let's keep speaking up...let your voice and mine be heard. I just called my Senator's office...easy to do and easy to leave a strong message! Encourage you to do the same.

2012...Finally Here!!!!

So here we sit on the cusp of possibly the greatest adventure in history. Certainly, this is a time of major transformation; and the massive change of some sort to occur around the year 2012 has been predicted many times in many arenas. Some have been dire, some challenging. My best estimate, and that of many, many others on the planet, is that the confusion has occurred because at this time we enter an era unseen before on our planet. To put it in terms of energy or quantum physics, we quite possibly now enter or now focus into a quantum field with a frequency level significantly higher than in our last periods of human development.

What does this mean in ordinary terms? It means, on the one hand, that all of us are challenged to address and clear out the negative aspects of our lives that we have held on to in the past. That energy...whether anger or victimhood or blame and judgment...will no longer "work" in the new field we enter. On the other hand, as we do this, it is my profound belief that we enter into a new realm of possibility unlike any we have seen before. What has previously been seen as "impossible" now shifts, as we shift our perceptions and our beliefs into this new arena. As we enter en masse into the state of expanded consciousness that has been cultivated on this planet for decades, our collective consciousness expands. Perhaps we now enter the time when "peace on earth" and "love for all humanity" and "being connected in one humanity" rather than just in separate units is actually about to unfold. We just may, in the coming year, have the power to unfold progressively more into the compassionate and loving human race that we have the supreme potential to become.

Of course, that expansion is beyond our identification with being "just" human. We are, of course, passionately that. But this unfoldment, according to many of us on the planet doing the transformation work for decades as it has unfolded, is one into understanding and knowing ourselves to be intimately connected to the Divine from which we draw our Source. Perhaps the more accurate term to describe what potentially emerges is that we are taking giant steps toward becoming the "Divine Human", human beings who live in the present awareness of our strong and indivisible connection with the Divine, the Sacred, our Source. It follows, of course, that we also then live in profound awareness of our intimate connection with each other and the planet we call home.

Perhaps we now engage the opportunity to own our powers of creation and to design the earth we now reside upon as a place of peace, harmony and love. To many of us, there is the understanding that there really is nothing real but love...all else is an illusion or a reflection...an illusion that love is not present, or a reflection of the very human parts of us that cling to our anger, shame, blame, and judgment. Ultimately, perhaps now we discover that all that stands in the way of our experiencing "heaven on earth" is our own beliefs that we are separate from God or whatever we each call the Divine.

Is this "wishful thinking?" Perhaps. But it is the powerfully and firmly held position that many hundreds of thousands of people on the planet have acquired. In our journey, including in my own journey, it has become very, very clear that we are creators of our lives, individually and collectively, and that we have the ability to claim that birthright and use those very same powers to create our individual and collective experience as we choose. Responsibility? Yes, to the max! Scary? Yes, unless we interpret that same sensation as excitement. Perfect? No, as I said, we are each clearing out lots of "old stuff" that is no longer useful to us.

When we accept that we are already "perfect" but on an adventure for the sake of creation, and accept that we are, at the very core, all connected...then watch the "magic" unfold! Life on this new earth will never be the same!

Great blessings for each and all of you as we step forward into this great time of transformation. Have the very happiest of celebrations as we open the great, gilded doors into this brand new year...and perhaps, brand new era! Happy 2012 and beyond!!!

What price technology? Can we not find a better way, a higher course of action that honors all people? I am writing about this in my upcoming book. I believe that we CAN find a better path!

The chief Raoni cries when he learns that brazilian president Dilma released the beginning of construction of the hydroelectric plant of Belo Monte, even after tens of thousands of letters and emails addressed to her and which were ignored as the more than 600 000 signatures. That is, the death sentence of the peoples of Great Bend of the Xingu river is enacted. Belo Monte will inundate at least 400,000 hectares of forest, an area bigger than the Panama Canal, thus expelling 40,000 indigenous and local populations and destroying habitat valuable for many species - all to produce electricity at a high social, economic and environmental cost, which could easily be generated with greater investments in energy efficiency.

Response I posted on Psychology Today Website to inquiry regarding beliefs about death (2-16-11):

i have had two Near-Death Experiences before becoming a psychologist. Subsequently, I have been involved with the International Association of Near-Death Studies, know people who did a lot of the early research on NDEs, and know many, many people who have had NDEs. While I definitely agree that there very well be a substantial neurological component with the NDE, most people who have had NDEs...and the research indicates now more that 8 million reporters of NDEs in the United States and that is probably an underestimate...not only believe strongly that the event occurred. There also are often, maybe even usually, personality or other significant changes following an NDE. Two of the main factors in a usual NDE is out-of-body experience, and the "encounter" with one or more other out-of-body beings. My own adult experience involved both, including an encounter with three out-of-body beings who were as real for me...or more so...than anyone I have ever encountered in body.

That said, I have been in the psychology field for decades, including having been Chief of Staff of a psychiatric faculty, a major university medical school instructor, and am currently a faculty advisor at a major university medical school in Southern California. To many I know who explore developing consciousness in many forms, including the paranormal...ghosts, aura, et cetera, I am often seen as "the scientist". But I also agree with their perspectives and have had many of the same experiences. Many of us now are serving as bridges to connect the scientific and medical world with greater expansion into these realms. And. of course, quantum physics is helping us do that. The reason I responded is to let those of you interested know that scientific and professional work is rapidly advancing in these areas, as more and more people, including professionals, speak more openly about their own experiences, as well as information they have access to. Just as one example, there is a new national organization recently organized to train health, mental health and other professionals how to understand and assist people who have had Spiritually Transformative Experiences, including NDEs. I am honored to be on their national advisory board with planned conferences and eventual trainings throughout the country. We are in a time of beginning to expand our understanding of who and what we are to incorporate a more extensive version of "reality", both personally and collectively. Though there has been much resistance to what is unknown and unfamiliar, this shift or expansion is happening, not only for individuals, but collectively as well. Much is beginning to move out of the "woo woo" category into a changing paradigm for human development and functioning.

Thank each of you for having the courage to speak up and at least ask the questions!! I personally am from a tradition that said you had to "choose science or religion". My life-long stance has been, no, you don't. A much more integrative perspective is now on the horizon and becoming more of a very real possibility every day. My belief is that we've only begun to understand "reality".

Thank you for the exploration!! And the courage to say, as in What the Bleep, that maybe...just maybe...there are real "ships out there", even though we have never held that belief in our collective and personal consciousness so strongly until now. I would really welcome interaction with any of you who are also moving in that direction. Blessings!!

CHANGE ... IN CAPITAL LETTERS

Oh, my gosh!!! So much that is so amazing emerges with our choice to stop running faster on the hamster wheel, give up "My" direction for my life, and literally make decisions only as they emerge from a deep and powerful source beyond our logical mind. I can only describe this process, one strongly happening for me, as becoming willing to allow Spirit to direct my life. As one of my friends and great teachers has recently said to me, at this point, the path narrows...you either do what you are here to do now, or you do not stay in body. (BTW, no particular judgment about that for many of us who have had near-death experiences. The belief is that consciousness, which is what we are, then just continues development and creation in some other way.)

But this powerful, emerging process then is re-vamping almost EVERYTHING in my life!!! My "mind" clearly does not know what to do except carry out each step put in front of it. Example,instead of continuing to work in the same office, I am changing directions in practice. And instead of "sweating" about selling my office furniture on sudden notice, I decided that it would "just get taken care of if I just did my part and trusted the rest. Less than two hours later someone was asking to buy some of the furniture!!

Not that I am not "freaking out" periodically about the hows of it all!!!!! But overall I KNOW that something far more powerful is emerging here!!

Part of the experience however is that my "logical" approach doesn't work!! Ego and logic at this point assume their appropriate positions as the "mail clerks" (as someone i know put it)...to carry information from the world around me to me and carry my directives back out into the manifested world. But the "my" is from a much deeper source...from my willingness to bring forth my particular part of life's unfoldment rather than just asking for what "I" want in the way "I" think I want it.

As this huge change in course unfolds, I am in the very unaccustomed position of asking...frequently...for the help that I am so unaccustomed to doing!!! I'm getting rides from people because my car "evaporated", I'm closing and moving my office (not all of my practice) and home within weeks and moving at least temporarily away from the ocean and many people I dearly love. It seems that I NEVER would have consciously made these decisions!!!!! But deep within me is the beginning of joy and light I can see at the end of the tunnel. The light may for now be only "as big as the spark of a sparkler on the Fourth of July", as another dear teacher says, but it IS there!! I CAN begin to see it!!! And it IS transformation in it's most fundamental form...a birthing process from one life into another.

I had told a friend months ago, feeling that so much of what had been the focus of my life was done, that I felt my life as it was was over. Not that I was or would die, but that my challenge now was to "create a new life". I knew that clearly. But I had asked, "How on earth do you create an entirely new life at the age of 69?" His response..."If your 92 year old mother is any example, you have a long way to go!" I think I'm beginning to find out the answer to my own question!! Ironically, in yet another way, it is the age-old "Let go and let God!" And I mean REALLY let go and REALLY let God!!! And so it is!!!!!!

So how does this process of trusting our deepest "true self", as Charles Whitfield would say, emerge for each of you? Where are you in this process. tentatively putting your toe in the water or doing a "cannonball" smack into the middle of the pool???? We all have unfolding lessons about trust...in whom and when and where and so forth. Go inside to find who YOU really are, and allow, as you choose, that knowing to emerge into YOUR own unique path, your own contribution to this great adventure of humankind at this time and this place.

I was hospitalized for serious illness as a child and, after having been a dancer, I then was on five-years of restricted activity. During that time, the constant message to me, along with the constant medical intervention, was "If you move, you die." I appeared healthy to others, but deeply understand how medical challenges can impact childhood. I also have a son who had serious, life-threatening illness for a long time, so I also comprehend the effect on the parents of serious childhood medical problems.

While I do not and cannot fully understand the circumstances and experiences of the children and parents served by Fresh Start, I do understand enough that it seems perfectly in line with my life experiences to support them in whatever way is possible to me.
